Job Summary
Our company is looking for an experienced Operations Manager to oversee the Laboratory’s activities. The candidate should be results driven and be someone who pays attention to detail. The ideal candidate should also have a sharp business mind and a proven success in managing start-ups towards maximum productivity. The incumbent should also be highly skilled in Human Resources, Finance and IT management with the ultimate purpose of increasing operational efficiency.
Duties And Responsibilities
OBJECTIVES OF THE ROLE
Maintain constant communication with the management, staff and our clients to ensure proper operations of the organization
Implement and maintain quality assurance protocols
Grow the efficiency of existing organizational processes and procedures to enhance and sustain the organization’s internal capacity
Formulate and actively pursue strategic and operational objectives
Ensure operational activities remain on time and within a defined budget
Examine financial data and use it to improve profitability
Trace staffing requirements, recruiting, training and supervising staff
DAILY AND MONTHLY RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead, motivate and support a team within a true-sensitive and demanding environment
Set an implementation of career development plans for all lab staff
Manage timely data collection to update operations metrics to achieve productivity targets, reduce costs per unit, eliminate errors and deliver excellent customer service
Partner with other labs in improving the lab’s functionality and quality assurance processes
Work closely with the Health Professions Authority and the Medical Laboratory Council to make sure activities of the lab remain compliant
Purchase materials, plan inventory and oversee material usage
Conduct budget reviews and report costs plans to management
Present weekly and monthly management reports to the Managing Director
Qualifications And Experience
A Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Business Administration or related field
A Diploma or degree in Life Sciences will be an added advantage
1+ years of proven experience in an operations management position
Strong budget development and oversight skills
Excellent ability to delegate responsibilities while maintaining organizational control of operations and customer service
Highly trained in conflict management and business negotiation process
Knowledge of general business software
