Job Summary


Youth Advocates (YA) is a youth-led organization working to advance youth’s rights and amplify youth’s voices where it matters. Our mission is empowering adolescents and young people through knowledge and skills transfer. Youth Advocates’ rights-based approach involves increasing access to quality youth friendly services and providing comprehensive gender-sensitive, positive sexuality education, promoting and preserving human dignity. It uses technology and grassroots initiatives to empower youth, claiming respect for fundamental freedoms and rights; improved conditions for young people and their communities; opportunities to learn, work and participate in decisions that affect them. YA is committed to a culture of bold leadership, innovation in all aspects of our work, creative partnerships and, most crucially, accountability to those we serve.

We are currently looking for an individual to fill the following post starting March, 2022


Duties And Responsibilities


General description of the role:
1. To ensure that all YA staff other internal stakeholders and users receive high quality ICT, advice and support.
2. To deliver and maintain a high quality IT infrastructure in pursuance of the organisation’s strategic priorities and objectives and adhering to relevant legislation (e.g. Data Protection), ensuring security and privacy of networks and computer systems.
3. To ensure publicity/communications/marketing staff receive effective support and assistance in their digitally based activities
Information Technology
➢ Oversee, develop, implement, maintain and monitor the delivery of all information, communication and technology hardware and software products that form the Youth Advocates. Currently this includes website, Helpline Call Centre (IVR/SMS/Social Media), Youth Broadcasting Network (Video & Newspaper publication) and a smartphone app development.
➢ Oversee the design and editorial content for the digital platforms, ensuring that content is regularly updated and promoted.
➢ Lead the software development, production of videos, podcasts and other messages, which are produced for the Youth Helpline platforms and the Broadcasting Network.
➢ Ensure quality and vibrant digital presence for YA
➢ Suggest promotional materials and contribute to design of digital materials
