The Organic Farming Academy is looking for a System Administrator to maintain, upgrade and manage our traceability software, hardware and networks. Resourcefulness is a necessary skill in this role. You diagnose and resolve problems quickly. You have the skills to communicate with a variety of interdisciplinary teams and users. Your goal will be to ensure that our technology infrastructure runs smoothly and efficiently.
Duties And Responsibilities
Responsibilities
• Participate in initial trainings, onboarding sessions and engage in regular self-study to become proficient in the traceability solution
• Install and maintain traceability software, hardware and networks
• Set up accounts and users
• Develop and maintain reports and analytic dashboards in line with business requirements
• Monitor and maintain systems performance according to requirements
• Troubleshoot issues and outages
• Ensure security through access controls, backups and IT policies
• Upgrade systems with new releases and models
• Develop material to train staff on new technologies
• Build an internal wiki with technical documentation, manuals and IT policies
Qualifications And Experience
Requirements and skills
• BSc/Ba in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related discipline; professional certification (e.g. Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA)) is a plus
• Proven experience as a System Administrator or similar role
• A good understanding of software as a service (SAAS) concepts
• Experience in data analysis
• Knowledge of system security (e.g. intrusion detection systems) and data backup/recovery
• Ability to create scripts in Python, Perl or other language is a plus
• Familiarity with various operating systems and platforms
• Resourcefulness and problem-solving aptitude
• Excellent communication skills
• Open to other tasks as required by management
