Yesterday WhatsApp users were plunged into the black hole of oblivion, when the system server went down.

While the application itself was launching and displaying all features, the glitch was mainly targeted at connection issues.

WhatsApp confirmed the issue saying

Earlier , an internal update made to our WhatsApp servers caused some people to have trouble sending messages,We quickly resolved this issue for everyone and we apologize for any inconvenience.”

They didn’t clarify on what caused the glitch, but they reassured that it had been fixed.

WhatsApp rarely experiences major glitches that affect all its users on a global scale.

The last major glitch took place more than a year ago and it affected not only WhatsApp but Instagram and Facebook as well as the 3 applications are all owned by Facebook.

The previous service outage lasted for 2 hours but managed to be restored.

Lately, some WhatsApp users in some countries have also been complaining about connection issues within the application

These areas include, the US, parts of South America, parts of Central America, Australia, India and several European countries.

Some of the WhatsApp users have complained that the the application is not refreshing new messages and remains stuck on the connecting screen.

WhatsApp has recently seen some major updates being effected, while some are still undergoing the beta testing process.

WhatsApp will be introducing animated stickers. With stickers becoming very popular, WhatsApp has decided to make things more interesting.

WhatsApp will soon make adding contacts easier than ever using the QR Code. Users will just scan their desired contact’s code to add them to their contacts instead of adding them digit by boring digit.

WhatsApp Dark Mode can now be used on the WhatsApp desktop as well.

WhatsApp users can also video call up to 8 people at once and users can choose to focus on one person they want to see the most by tapping on their face and holding to get a full screen.
